Room Block Poaching and Room Block Management
Room block performance is an evergreen concern for the meetings and events industry. Economic fluctuations, technology shifts and other disruptions have all challenged planners and suppliers in the past.
In the mix is the threat from businesses that actively seek to recruit or divert event attendees away from official room blocks and into other hotel bookings. These businesses use a range of techniques to approach attendees and gain their business.
The APEX Room Block Poaching Workgroup has been formed to conduct research and developed best practices, tools, resources to aid meeting professionals in managing room blocks.
