Melody Kebe, CMP, CGMP, past president of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals assumed the role of Board Chair. Kebe is Chief of the Management Support Division within the Network Services Directorate, Defense Information Systems Agency.
“My primary goal is to continue the great work and forward thinking about the future of the CMP Program that my predecessors accomplished during their tenures,” said Kebe. “In addition to continuing the projects outlined in the board’s strategic framework, my focus will also include increasing the visibility of the CMP board inside the organizations that board members represent, creating stronger collaboration and resource sharing, and ensuring that the board participation offers a high return on investment.”
With over 40 years of experience working for the federal government, Kebe serves as the Directorate’s Conference Liaison for the Agency-wide Annual Customer and Industry Forum, attended by over 3,000 representatives from the Military Services, Government Agencies & Private Industry, where she supervises 25 staff members who provide day-to-day management and operational support services across the Directorate.
Currently serving as National Immediate Past President of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP), where she created a leadership development training course and has been a member since 1993, Kebe also served as a committee member charged with creating the Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) certification program.

Melody takes leadership of the CMP Board at an exciting time for the program, and she has the experience and passion to lead the program into an exceptional future.”
