I. APEX DAY IS COMING – OCTOBER 14, 2004!

APEX Day is on October 14, 2004! It is a time to focus the attention of the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry on the APEX initiative while raising awareness and educating industry members of its purpose and outcomes.

Individuals, organizations, and corporations will be celebrating APEX in many different ways. For instance, industry veterans, Shelley Harris, CMM, CMP and Ellen Wilson, CMP will bring APEX Day to two groups in the industry: independent meeting executives and human resources directors.

The Harris/Wilson team will host a special educational forum where independent meeting executives and human resources directors come together to learn the benefits of the APEX initiative as it relates to their business. The goal of the two-hour program will be to present the strength of the APEX program as it relates directly to employee professionalism, staff and corporate development, and the communications process for every contractor that touches a meeting or event.

“APEX content provides a framework that HR can use at every stage of the employment management cycle including job description design, staff recruitment, new employee assimilation, staff training, performance management, and of, course delivery of customer service” explained Wilson.

“The content of this program will also relate directly to the business owner who hires contractors, manages projects and works specifically in the meetings industry,” cites Harris. “An independent meeting executive will learn how APEX can deepen their expertise in the industry, how they can incorporate APEX content into their marketing and communications message and ultimately, build a stronger business.”

  • Put APEX on your staff meeting agenda.
  • Schedule a webinar to educate customers about APEX.
  • Publish an article on APEX in your company or organization newsletter.
  • Promote APEX on your website by posting the APEX supporter logo, adding links to the APEX Industry Glossary and Post-Event Report and providing general APEX information.
  • Support a local city discussion group by sending employees to participate or by providing services as a sponsor.
  • Write a letter to your business associates explaining your commitment to APEX.
