Green Meetings and Events Standards

APEX is currently in the process of finalizing standards for green meetings and events. The standards will be composed of nine sectors within the planning process. Those are:
 
Accommodations
Audio/Visual and Production
Communications & Marketing
Destinations
Exhibits
Food & Beverage
Meeting Venue
On-Site Offices
Transportation
 
The standards have completed the APEX consensus process and is now being balloted by ASTM International (click here for more information), an international standards setting organization.  APEX has submitted and ASTM is currently balloting 6 of the 9 standards through the E60 Sustainability Committee. Those six are posted below.

ASTM Transportation

Following the ASTM voluntary consensus process, the standards will be adopted. Pursuing the extra step with ASTM International will aid in the value, recognition and applicability of the standards/guidelines.  

Furthermore, various bodies, like the US Government, intend to use the ASTM standards. We encourage any interested party to become part of the ASTM effort and process. To learn more about ASTM click here.
