Uninstall Instructions
Please carry out the following instructions to back up all your data before you uninstall the APEX application. You can then restore your data after you have reinstalled APEX on your computer.

1. Before uninstalling the APEX application, create a backup folder on your hard drive at a location you desire (for e.g. C:\ApexBackup). To do this, right-click the location at which you wish to create your Backup folder, select “New Folder”, and name your folder “ApexBackup”.

Please ensure that you DO NOT create this backup folder at the following locations:

  • Windows XP: C:\Program Files\APEX Meeting & Event Toolbox
  • Windows Vista: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\APEX Meeting & Event Toolbox

2. Note the path to which your Event documents are currently being saved by clicking the ‘My Preferences’ tab in the left bottom side of the main menu.

3. Copy the folder named ‘EventDocuments’ from this location and paste it in the ApexBackup’ folder you had created in step 1. To Copy/Paste, right-click the folder and select “Copy” or “Paste”, respectively.

4. Copy the folder named ‘APEX Meeting & Event Toolbox’ located in your ‘My Documents’ folder located at C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents, and paste it in the ‘ApexBackup’ folder you had created in step 1. The ‘Apex Meeting & Event Toolbox’ folder should contain a file named ‘Apex_ORMP.mdb’ and a folder named ‘Profile’, which contains your logo, signature and portrait images (if you had previously set up profile images).

5. Once you have backed up these folders, to uninstall, navigate to Start Menu => Programs => Apex Meeting and Event Toolbox. Click on the ‘Uninstall Apex Meeting and Event Toolbox’ tab.

6. During the process of uninstalling the application, a prompt will be displayed asking if you would like to keep your ‘Event Documents’. If you choose ‘Yes’, the folder indicated in steps 2 and 3 will not be deleted. However, if you select ‘No’, then the respective folder containing the ‘Event Documents’ will be deleted.
