Emeritus CMPs

The process of studying for and receiving the CMP certification is an acknowledgement of the bank of knowledge and experience that is necessary to be effective in the meeting and event industry. When I went through this process, I had been a destination management operations manager for 15 years and the opportunity to expand my information base was so very much appreciated. The industry continues to grow and present exciting challenges and it is good to know that the CMP educational process is available to those who are newly entering this field which encompasses so many different areas of expertise from food and beverage to room set up to audio visual needs and more. Getting the CMP certification indicates the high level of commitment to being a true professional in the industry.

Now, as a business owner, it is gratifying to know that the Emeritus Status is available to those of us who have spent many years in the industry and who are continuing to learn with “on the job” lessons each and every day, for certainly it is that dynamic quality that continues to keep this industry exciting, invigorating and educational.
