International CMP Candidates

The Convention Industry Council (CIC) offers International Exam Locations for CMP candidates.
(Please visit the Exam Dates, Deadlines & Locations page for upcoming International exam dates)

Although most applicants from outside North America choose to participate in an International Exam location, they may elect to participate in the North American offering. In order to be seated for a specific examination, the applicant must have met application requirements, have paid all relevant fees and have submitted materials by each specified deadline.

English As A Second Language
The Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Examinations are presented in the English language only. Candidates whose primary language is not English may request an additional thirty (30) minutes of time in which to take the examination. In order for CIC to evaluate a request for extra testing time, the candidate must submit documentation along with the request to CIC that proves English as a Second Language (e.g. proof of citizenship, passport, etc.). Requests and supporting documentation must be received by CIC prior to the examination registration deadline.

Application Documentation
Supporting documentation for the application must be enclosed with the original application, including documentation of formal education such as transcripts or diplomas and proof of professional organization membership(s) claimed in the application. All transcripts, diplomas or certificates of completion must be submitted with the application in English. If these documents are in a language other than English, a translation agency must translate these documents into English, and the candidate is responsible for having the translated documents notarized.

CMP International Committee
A volunteer network of CMP International Committee. has been established by CIC to assist in the promotion of the CMP Program in world markets. Committee members also offer guidance and assistance to candidates living and working outside of the U.S. through the CMP Process. The role of a CMP Internatioanl committee member is to provide encouragement and support to candidates pursuing the CMP in their area, but not to offer test preparation assistance. Many non-U.S. candidates have found that working with a local CMP International Committee member has made the CMP process more enjoyable and has helped them to stay informed.
