Ground Transportation between Airport and Hotel
The Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is approximately 11 miles from downtown. An efficient airport transfer service called the Airporter transports travelers to all the downtown hotels at a cost of approximately $13 each way or $20 round-trip. Taxi fares are roughly $27 and private limousine service is $42 one-way, plus gratuity. All of these services accept credit cards, and all amounts are quoted in Canadian dollars.

 

Passport Information
Requirements for American citizens entering Canada: U.S. citizens and permanent residents require a birth certificate, a resident alien card or a green card together with picture I.D. or passport to enter Canada. A driver's license is NOT accepted as proof of citizenship.
Requirements for American citizens re-entering the U.S.: Currently, Canadian and American citizens only need a birth certificate and a photo ID (such as a driver's license) to cross back into the USA. However, a new U.S. law has been introduced requiring passports for entering the U.S. via air effective January 23, 2007, and via land and sea borders as of January 1, 2008. Travelers are advised to stay informed of U.S. passport regulations.

Requirements for international visitors entering Canada:
Persons visiting from countries other than the United States must have a valid passport and may require other documentation such as visas. Check with the nearest Canadian Consulate well in advance of travel. For more information, please visit www.cic.gc.ca.

This session is a must for CMP who work as CMP Study Group Leaders. The 8th edition of the CMP Manual was published this year, and application procedures and fees have changed in the last 12 months. Make sure you have all of the latest tools and information you need to answer the questions of your study group!

This is an entertaining and informative session for first-time Conclave attendees. Newcomers will have a chance to learn more about the CMP Conclave and its objectives from veteran attendees.

Exam Development
Conclave attendees will review, validate, and reference previously written questions for the CMP Examination. Additionally, attendees will write new questions for a specific knowledge topic from the CMP Examination Blueprint.

8:30 - 9:30: 2009 CMP Conclave Promotional Breakfast
The 2009 CMP Conclave will be held in San Antonio, Texas at the fabulous Westin Riverwalk Hotel! Join us for a special breakfast presentation of the wonderful sites and venues that San Antonio has to offer.

9:30 - 10:15: General Session
Rick Antonson
Rick is President and CEO of Tourism Vancouver, which represents over 1,000 businesses. In May, Rick will publish his third book, “To Timbuktu for a Haircut; A Journey Through West Africa”.

10:30 -13:00: CMP Mock Exam
Current CMPs will re-experience the CMP Examination at the 2008 Conclave. The 100 questions on the mock exams have not appeared on actual examinations and were written by past Conclave attendees. CIC uses the results of the mock exam to collect performance statistics for future testing. These statistics assess the difficulty of each question. This information, along with the CMP Examination Blueprint, is used to construct each examination. CMPs who participate in mock exams have the opportunity to do so anonymously if they would like.
