Nominations Now Open for 2025 Global Awards

This week, EIC opened nominations for the 2025 Global Awards, which will be presented during a black-tie gala on 6 October 2025 in Las Vegas.

The awards will include the newest inductees into the Hall of Leaders, considered the business events industry's most prestigious award.

EIC and JMIC to Collaborate to Advance Business Events Industry Advocacy, Research and Sustainability

The Events Industry Council (EIC) and the Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC) today announced a new collaboration to align efforts in three critical areas: Advocacy, Research and advancing Sustainability and ESG efforts to ensure maximum impact within the global events sector and its workforce. The two organisations will advocate collectively on behalf of the business events industry, including work on the next global Economic Significance of Business Events Study, which is developed in partnership with Oxford Economics.

Futures Landscape Report

Futures Landscape Report

Today, the Events Industry Council released the Futures Landscape Report 2025 examining the issues likely to shape the global business events industry in the years to come.

The final report draws from a series of "Think Tank" workshops where leaders from EIC’s 60+ members, strategic partners and volunteer leaders shared insights and perspectives from their unique vantage points, as well as a global survey of business event stakeholders.

EIC Releases Update to CMP International Standards

The Events Industry Council today released an update to the Certified Meeting Professional International Standards (CMP-IS). This update will be the foundation for a revised CMP exam and related study materials, which will be released in August 2025.

"As our sector continues to evolve, adapt and innovate, the CMP programme is evolving to ensure its relevance now and into the future,” said EIC President and CEO Amy Calvert. “The updates to the competencies and domains will help ensure CMPs are well positioned to lead and innovate in the modern events landscape."
